WARDOGS Beginner Guide: First Loadout and Unlocks
Get a complete kit you can replace, then contribute to the Control Zone. Reviving, transporting teammates and holding the objective are legitimate earning jobs, not just kills. The $10,000 starting balance is for the beginning of your journey, not a fresh allowance every match.
What are you trying to win?
Official description: BULKHEAD and Team17: official game description
WARDOGS puts three teams into a Control Zone contest. The official description says the team with the most players in the zone earns points, with 100 points required to win.
Decide how your next kit helps that objective: fight on the ground, revive teammates, transport players or supply a position. This is a planning choice, not a claim that one role always earns the most.
Control Zone versus Hot Zone
Official description: BULKHEAD and Team17: official game description
The official description gives the Control Zone a 2 by 2 km footprint and awards points to the team with the most players inside; 100 points wins. It separately describes double cash in the Hot Zone. Do not confuse a cash multiplier with an automatic win condition.
Pick one useful next task rather than buying for several unrelated jobs. Choose protection and compatible equipment for that task, and use the map to check whether your plan contributes to the fight.
Build a complete first kit
- Start with equipment already available to your character. Check the track and level on each item page before reserving money for it.
- Budget the weapon, a compatible magazine, compatible ammunition, protection and the tools required for your chosen job.
- Compare the complete price with your current in-game balance. Retaining enough for another useful kit is a conservative budgeting choice, not an official spending rule.
- Check the complete weight and its penalties. A weapon-only weight does not include every other item you carry.
Compare the unlock before buying the upgrade
A listed unlock fee is not the purchase price of a loadout. The table keeps those numbers in separate columns so you can plan both.
These rifles are comparison examples, not a promise that both are available to a fresh character. Use your current progression to decide whether either belongs in your next kit.
Avoid the expensive assumptions
Do not assume that matching caliber text proves every magazine or ammunition variant fits. Use the explicit relationships on the weapon page.
Do not treat a missing price as zero, a calculated TTK as a real-match guarantee, or a catalogue value as proof of today's live offer. Check the evidence and update notes when the shop disagrees.
Choose your next learning task
Use the relevant walkthrough rather than learning a costly specialist role by guesswork. Each guide separates catalogue values from the community instructions behind its practical steps.
Sources and limitations
Equipment values match the linked equipment pages, and damage and TTK figures use the same model as the damage calculator. Live shop offers and server-side changes can differ from the retail game data.
AI-assisted drafting is used to organize documented information. This guide does not claim independent gameplay testing or certainty beyond its sources.
