WARDOGS Ammo and Armor: Damage and TTK Explained
Choose an explicitly compatible round, then compare its damage for a specified hit zone, armor and distance. Matching caliber names alone does not prove compatibility.

AK74 ammunition: an initial-hit comparison
This worked example keeps AK74, a 100-meter distance and upper-torso hits fixed. It compares no armor with the named profile Level 1 Helmet + Level 1 Armor. The armor names identify the actual profile rather than assuming that an ordinal level describes every equipment piece.
These are initial-hit damage values from the existing model. They do not simulate armor durability, so the table deliberately does not convert armored hit damage into shots to kill or time to kill.
Each row links to the explicitly compatible ammunition item. A higher initial-hit value does not establish better net earnings, a cheaper kit, or a practical combat advantage in every situation.
| Compatible ammunition | No armor: hit damage | Named armor profile: hit damage |

| 5.45mm Flesh Damage (HP) | 57.2 | 8.494 |

Start with explicit compatibility
A weapon page separates compatible ammunition, magazines and attachments. Follow those relationships when choosing a round and a magazine; matching text in a caliber label is not sufficient proof that every record is interchangeable.
Some records represent ammunition variants or magazines rather than a different weapon. Check the item type, purchase quantity and compatibility before comparing prices.
Why a single damage number is not enough
The damage model distinguishes hit zones, weapon-class body multipliers, ammunition rules, armor interactions and damage over distance. A value copied without those conditions is easy to misinterpret.
Armor coverage matters as well as its recorded reduction. Use the selected target zone and armor configuration in the calculator rather than applying one armor number to every hit.
Compare ammunition for a specific job
- Choose the weapon first, then select one of its compatible rounds.
- Set a hit zone, armor and a distance representative of the question you are asking.
- Compare damage per hit and required trigger pulls before looking at time to kill.
- Repeat for another compatible round without changing the target conditions.
- Include the ammunition cost and quantity in the complete kit budget.
What TTK does and does not establish
With a cyclic fire rate of R rounds per minute and N required shots, the interval from the first shot to the last is (N - 1) × 60 / R seconds. Additional projectile travel, reloads, misses and handling are separate considerations.
The zero-meter, unarmored comparison is a reference scenario, not a recommendation that holds against armor at every range. Shotgun rows also depend on how many pellets are assumed to hit.
A modeled value is not field-tested performance. Check the source and update notes when comparing results with current gameplay.
Compare your actual target conditions
The weapon comparison keeps distance, hit location, armor profile and pellet assumptions identical across every result. Select one weapon to compare its compatible rounds, or a second weapon for a side-by-side choice. A weapon-price filter narrows purchases without treating unknown prices as free.
Firing interval and projectile travel are reported separately. For armored targets, compare initial hit damage only: the model does not include armor durability and therefore withholds armored shots-to-kill and TTK. These are modeled values, not match-test results.
Sources and limitations
Equipment values use the same catalogue as the linked equipment and mechanics pages. Weapon comparison tables use the same calculation model as the comparison tool. Installed defaults can differ from live offers or server-side changes. Missing values remain explicitly unknown. An article update date does not mean every underlying game fact was retested on that date.
