WARDOGS AK74 vs M4: Price, Unlocks and Fire Rate

AK74: $1,600 listed shop price, Infantry level 3, 650 RPM. M4: $2,800 listed shop price, Infantry level 20, 800 RPM. Unlock fees and the rest of your kit cost extra; damage depends on ammunition, armor and range.

AK74 and M4: the same fields side by side

The numbers below come from the same records as the individual weapon pages. Prices refer to catalogue defaults; unlock fees are listed separately from purchases.

The combined acquisition row assumes you need both the unlock and one weapon purchase. An already-owned unlock is not paid again in this comparison; ammunition, attachments and protection are extra.

AK74 vs M4: modeled impact time at 0, 100 and 300 meters

Each row uses an unarmored upper-torso target and the fastest modeled compatible ammunition for that rifle at that distance. The named rounds are part of the result; this is not a claim that every ammunition choice performs the same way.

The firing interval starts at the first trigger pull. Projectile flight is then added once to obtain the modeled final impact time. Increasing range can change both damage and required trigger pulls, so a point-blank result does not establish the winner at every range.

This calculation does not include accuracy, recoil control, reloads, burst pauses, ammunition spending or armor durability. Use the acquisition comparison separately for unlock and purchase costs.

What the differences mean

AK74 has the lower listed rifle purchase price by $1,200. That comparison excludes ammunition, attachments, armor and any unlock fees.

M4 has the higher listed cyclic rate. This describes firing speed, not a guarantee of better practical accuracy or a faster kill against every target.

Choose using your current unlocks and remaining kit budget. Do not assume the more expensive weapon, faster cyclic rate or smaller ADS number wins every tradeoff.

Compare ammunition, armor and range

The rifles use different caliber families. Select a compatible round for each and use the same hit location, armor and range when comparing damage.

The wiki's cyclic TTK reference is an idealized scenario: every listed projectile hits, reloads are excluded and the target conditions are specified. The weapon damage previews include projectile flight in their stated calculation. These are modeled results, not playtest measurements.

Compare complete builds, not bare rifles

Select compatible parts in each weapon's attachment calculator. Include the magazine when checking configuration, then account for ammunition and the rest of the loadout.

A configuration that improves one field may change price, weight or another handling attribute. Read the configured values rather than adding vague recoil-reduction descriptions together.

Compare your actual target conditions

The weapon comparison keeps distance, hit location, armor profile and pellet assumptions identical across every result. Select one weapon to compare its compatible rounds, or a second weapon for a side-by-side choice. A weapon-price filter narrows purchases without treating unknown prices as free.

Firing interval and projectile travel are reported separately. For armored targets, compare initial hit damage only: the model does not include armor durability and therefore withholds armored shots-to-kill and TTK. These are modeled values, not match-test results.

Sources and limitations

Equipment values use the same catalogue as the linked equipment and mechanics pages. Weapon comparison tables use the same calculation model as the comparison tool. Installed defaults can differ from live offers or server-side changes. Missing values remain explicitly unknown. An article update date does not mean every underlying game fact was retested on that date.
