How to Build a FOB in WARDOGS: Kit, Hammers and Supplies
Establish a FOB kit, protect its storage and keep a delivery route open. Use the appropriate hammer and supplies for the structures your team needs. A stockpile is not the same thing as a respawn vehicle.

FOB kit and hammer costs
Catalogue snapshot: Equipment catalogue and source limitations
Compare the shop purchase with any one-time unlock fee before leaving the vendor. The values below are the same fields used on the equipment pages; live offers and discounts can differ.
A kit's inventory rectangle must fit in an actual storage compartment. Adding the slots of separate compartments together does not prove that the kit will fit.
| Equipment | Shop purchase | Unlock requirement | Unlock fee |
|---|---|---|---|
| Forward Operating Base | $7,500 | Not recorded | Not recorded |
| Small Hammer | $100 | Not recorded | Not recorded |
| Medium Hammer | $800 | Support level 3 | $25,000 |
| Large Hammer | $2,400 | Support level 8 | $75,000 |
Establish and stock the base
Community observation: Skivin: building observations, updated September 16 · Catalogue snapshot: Equipment catalogue and source limitations
Skivin describes the placed FOB as the construction centre and shared stockpile. Its starting contents include a medium hammer. Check the inventory before buying another.
The catalogue records a 60 m FOB radius. That is a source-data value, not an independently measured live-server boundary.
- Confirm with the team who is bringing the kit and who will keep the position supplied.
- Choose a location with a useful job and access for the delivery vehicle. Inspect the placement preview before committing the kit.
- Inspect the deployed inventory, select the building tool you need and protect access to the stockpile.
- Start with the structures the team will actually use, then verify that people and supply vehicles can still move through the layout.
Supply crates and pallets are not the same delivery
Community observation: Skivin: building observations, updated September 16
The community building guide distinguishes crate contents, which players transfer into FOB storage, from large pallets unpacked inside the radius to deposit resources. A parked delivery is not proof that the stockpile has been replenished.
Agree on the requested supply type before dispatch. On arrival, check the stockpile change and keep the unloading route clear.
Protect the base without blocking its use
Community observation: Skivin: building observations, updated September 16 · Community observation: cheekbuster 2-5: FOB layout observations, updated September 17
The two community guides emphasize closed entrances, room for delivery vehicles and protection for the FOB core. A tower is a common location, not a universal requirement. Leave clearance around a mortar rather than placing a wall across its firing path.
Before expanding, walk the entry route and check sightlines from outside. Treat the layout as a working delivery and defense system, not just a wall length to maximize.
FOB, spawn vehicle and field cover
Community observation: Skivin: building observations, updated September 16
Skivin describes a separate spawn APC for forward spawning. Do not assume the FOB kit itself is a respawn point. The same guide reports that simple field cover, including sandbags and tank traps, can be built away from a FOB.
Check the selected structure's current placement message. Do not generalize one small buildable's rules to every wall or emplacement.
When construction or resupply does not work
Inspect the problem in order rather than repeatedly buying the same item. First identify the exact structure and tool, then read the placement or resource message shown by the game.
| Symptom | What to check next |
|---|---|
| Cannot select the intended structure | Correct tool, character unlocks and the actual build menu. |
| Placement is refused | The visible placement message, terrain obstruction and the active construction boundary. |
| A delivery arrived but resources did not change | Crate versus pallet workflow, supply type and whether unloading was completed. |
| A defensive weapon cannot operate | Its ammunition or other resource requirement, an operator and unobstructed operation. |
Sources and limitations
Equipment values use the same catalogue as the linked equipment and mechanics pages. Weapon comparison tables use the same calculation model as the comparison tool. Installed defaults can differ from live offers or server-side changes. Missing values remain explicitly unknown. An article update date does not mean every underlying game fact was retested on that date.
AI-assisted drafting is used to organize documented information. This guide does not claim independent gameplay testing or certainty beyond its sources.
